Glycoisdin Moderate 15% Glycolic Acid

Sale Price: $79.00 Original Price: $85.00

A renewing FAST ABSORBING facial gel designed to help unify skin tone and revamp skin texture. Its light-texture formula contains 6.1% free glycolic acid to actively exfoliate and support skin turnover. This is the equivalent of 15% partially neutralized or buffered glycolic acid found in other preparations. This is a MODERATE concentration. If you are new to glycolic acid, please keep reading.

Created with soothing aloe vera to help ease skin irritation. This glides on easily, absorbs quickly and doesn’t “pill” when you apply your moisturizer/sunscreen on top of it.

pH ~ 3.0-4.0

You'll see rejuvenated, luminous skin with fewer fine lines, less discoloration and improved texture and tone. This is great for uneven skin tone, acne prone skin, fine lines and wrinkles and rough skin texture.

Glycolic exfoliation should start in the early teens and continue throughout the rest of your life. In the earlier years, glycolic exfoliation helps to prevent and treat acne.  As we age, the benefit shifts towards restoring skin smoothness and luster, as your shedding dead skin cells becomes irregular leading to accumulation of dulling dead cells which also contribute to excess brown pigmentation.

Glycolic acid is appropriate for all skin types, and all skin types can receive all of the benefits from glycolic. For oily skin, it helps to remove dead cells, which can clog pores. For dry skin, glycolic allows moisturizers to penetrate the skin better and removes the flakes of dry, dulling dead skin. For normal skin, glycolic creates a smooth surface and a youthful, luminous glow. For sensitive skin, glycolic can be paired with moisturizers.  Oily skin will be able to tolerate a higher strength versus dry, sensitive, thin skin.

If you are new to Glycolic Acid or have sensitive skin, I recommend starting with the 8% Glycolic Acid from ISDIN.  Allow your skin to acclimate for about 3 weeks.  Start by applying a small “pea-size” just three times per week (or every other day) for three weeks. Continue slowly building up this way until you're able to use it every day.  If you’ve built up a tolerance and have more serious concerns with anti-aging, hyperpigmentation and roughness,  move up to the next strength.  When introducing a higher strength glycolic acid, it still makes sense to alternate it with the prior strength (e.g. a 8% or 15%), every other day.

Glycolic acid makes you photosensitive, so wearing abroad-spectrum sunscreenevery day is a must no matter what!
